About Us

We are Karen and Tom and thank you so much for visiting our store.

Our business journey together started on our first romantic getaway weekend long ago to Charlotte, NC to watch a Zac Brown concert.  The following day we enjoyed a wonderful visit to the Yadkin Valley Wine Country and a visit to an amazing vineyard.  To our surprise, they sold used wine barrels and the temptation was too strong to resist.  We brought one home.  Honestly, we stared at it for over a year before one weekend we went head first into the project of making it a barrel bar.

Karen's sister visited and just had to have us build her one too. Friends visited and wanted us to build ones for them too. Then everyone was encouraging us to sell on Etsy.  

The big shift in our business came when we started attending local craft shows.  People were so complimentary and we kept selling out our inventory! We love craft shows, especially all of the fantastic people and the stories we all share.  It's become a wonderful lifestyle for us. We have both retired from corporate America, raised our kids and now spend our time together creating and building new products.  

When we are not busy building we love hiking, kayaking, disc golf and most recently a fascination with bird watching. 

We hope you can see the love we have for every product we make.  At shows we often hear people say there's nobody else at the show with the quality of our products and the uniqueness of them as well.  We cherish those comments and it keeps us passionate every day to deliver superior craftsmanship in everything we build.
